The purpose of this public petition (http://gunfreeut.org/petitions/graduate-student-petition/) is to express opposition to firearms in UT classrooms.  The concealed campus carry law, S.B. 11 (effective August 1, 2016) will allow Concealed Handgun License holders to carry guns into campus buildings, including classrooms -- unless President Fenves designates them as "exclusion zones".  

The petition has been delivered to President Fenves and the Board of Regents as of December 1, but it will remain open for further signatures until August 1, 2016.
